Construction of Reinforced Earth® wall using Steel Strip at Railway flyover-Thanh Hoa province, Vietnam.

The railway overpass project in Thanh Hoa is a major project that began at the end of 2022 right after the end of the Covid-19 pandemic in Vietnam. Initially, the retaining wall was only constructed at the approach road of the bridge with total volume of about 600 m2. However, during the detailed design process, it was found that it was possible to extend the retaining wall to connect to the existing residential underpass, reducing site clearance costs when passing through a crowded residential area. Geoquest Vietnam convinced the investors and consultants to design a solution to extend the Reinforced Earth® wall, thereby, solving the difficult problem that had occurred, thus, saving a lot of money. The total wall area after adjustment is 2750 m2 with maximum height of wall being 8.5 m, using the HA50x4 steel strip system.
