Background
In Phnom Penh, Cambodia, the Geoquest team at Freyssinet Vietnam designed and supplied materials for the construction of 2114 m² of Reinforced Earth® walls of a maximum height of almost 6m. Located close to Phnom Penh International airport, the Chom Chao Interchange eases the traffic congestion.
Challenge
Solution
Geoquest Viet Nam worked together to offer the Owner & Consultant an alternative solution to build Reinforced Earth® walls. One of the technology applied is steel strip Reinforced Earth® Wall system combined with foam concrete to minimise pressure on the ground and on the side tunnel. It enabled to replace the original costly solution of using concrete retaining walls on concrete pressed piling foundations. Our solutions provided cost efficiency and enabled to meet the tight implementation schedule required by limited construction space in urban areas.
